Cross-Cultural Communication

Cross-Cultural Communication Programme

Strengthen your ability to navigate global workplaces. Build the mindset and skills needed to work and communicate effectively across a wide range of cultural settings.

About the program

How do I know I should attend this workshop?

  1. Do you work in a global team or company?
  2. Do you sometimes struggle to “read the cues” when communicating with stakeholders from a culture different to your own?
  3. Are you worried that your team’s efficiency and performance is being hampered because of the inability to bridge intercultural differences?
  4. Have you noticed that cultural assumptions and stereotypes are leading to conflict and miscommunication in your team?
  5. Do you want practical tools to help you communicate across cultural divides?

If you answer yes to most of these questions, then this workshop is for you.

You will work on:

  • Understanding culture as a continuum, comprised of both visible and invisible components
  • Identifying behaviours and assumptions that guide your own culture
  • Using individual, pairwise and small group exercises to foster a growth mindset centered in openness and sensitivity
  • Cultivating your active listening, empathy and curiosity skills
  • Leveraging intercultural learning skills to resolve conflicts

By the end of this workshop, you will have:

  • Identified some of the core facets of national cultures and how they vary
  • Analysed how your own culture shapes your expectations regarding other cultures you encounter
  • Appreciated how listening, empathy and curiosity can help you overcome cultural misunderstandings
  • Developed effective strategies for bridging cultural difference
